Having worked with helmet materials for 17 years, from basic plastics to advanced carbon fiber, I am incredibly excited about the future. The next generation of safety helmet will be defined by a new class of smart and responsive materials. We are actively researching and testing materials beyond traditional EPS foam. Things like collapsible lattice structures, inspired by architectural design, that can be "tuned" to absorb different levels of impact force in different areas of the helmet. We're looking at non-Newtonian polymers that are soft and flexible under normal conditions but become instantly rigid upon impact. These advancements will allow us to create a safety helmet that is not only safer but also thinner, lighter, and more breathable than anything available today. My commitment at SPIRIT is to keep our brand partners at the forefront of this materials revolution, integrating these new technologies as soon as they are proven, reliable, and ready.
