As a manufacturer with 17 years of experience, I can unequivocally state that a helmet is only as good as the materials from which it is made. At SPIRIT, we are uncompromising in our material sourcing for every equestrian helmet. The journey begins with the outer shell, where we use high-grade polymers and composites that provide excellent impact resistance and durability, whether it’s a modern matte finish or the substrate for a classic velvet covering. The most critical material, however, is the energy-absorbing liner. We use premium, high-density Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), sourced from the world's most reputable suppliers. We ensure the bead quality and fusion process are perfect, as this is what guarantees the liner will crush uniformly to absorb impact energy. For the interior, we select technical, moisture-wicking fabrics that are soft to the touch but durable enough for daily use, and ensure they are removable and washable. Even our harnesses use high-tenacity, soft-touch nylon webbing that won’t chafe or irritate. This commitment to material excellence is the invisible foundation of quality in every equestrian helmet we craft.
