A climbing helmet only works if it stays securely on your head during a fall. That's why, at SPIRIT, we believe the ergonomics of the fit system are just as critical as the impact performance of the shell. A perfect fit is about more than just comfort; it's a core safety feature. Over the last 17 years, I’ve overseen the development of multiple generations of our retention systems. Our goal is to create a system that provides 360-degree contact, cradling the head without creating pressure points. We use a single, glove-friendly dial at the back for circumference adjustment, allowing for quick and easy fine-tuning on the go. The vertical positioning of the cradle is also adjustable to accommodate different head shapes and ponytails. We meticulously design the webbing yoke so that it sits flat against the face and below the ears, ensuring stability without chafing. Every component of the fit system on a SPIRIT-made climbing helmet is there for a reason, tested by climbers to ensure it delivers a secure, comfortable, and forget-it's-there fit, from the first pitch of the day to the last.
